STAGES OF PRODUCTIONS
PRE-PRODUCTION
1 CONTACT ME
If you are interested in having your website done with me, fill in the contact form below. I will send you a questionnaire with a list of things to prepare for the content of the site. Or just give me a call to have a chat.
2 RESEARCH
Spend some time looking at the competition and get a good idea of how you want to structure your website.
Make a list of all the pages (and main menu, sub-menu, secondary menu) and write down for each page the content and the images you wish to integrate.
3 GATHER CONTENT
The quality of the content and photos is extremely important.
Spend time gathering good images (your own or copyright free images) and write some interesting content.
Once you have the content and the images and have created folders for each page, send them to me via http://www.wetransfer.com to hello@geneclosuit.com
PRODUCTION
1 TEMPLATE
Once I get all the material, we will discuss the ideal template together.
The choice of the template is not that important as they are flexible and we can change them at anytime.
2 PRODUCTION
I will then create an account for you and set up the pages, create a layout for each section, insert images into galleries, slideshows etc and customise the colour palette and typography.
3 FEEDBACK AND FINAL CHANGES
You will get the link to view the website and will be able to make a list of the changes you wish to have.
Then, if possible (as the templates have limitations) make the final amendments.
POST-PRODUCTION
1 DOMAIN NAME transfer
If you already have a domain name, you will need to give me the control panel details of your hosting company so I can direct the domain name to the Squarespace or Wix website. If you don’t have a domain name, I will show you how to get one at a competitive price.
2 TUTORIAL
If you wish, for an extra £50, you will receive a personalised PDF with instructions on how to add new work, how to update news, exhibitions, etc. Squarespace or Wix have many video tutorials about any aspects of the production.
3 FUTURE MODIFICATIONS
If you wish to expand your website, add new pages or need help, I will be available to support your needs. Depending on the complexity of the query, I will charge between £50 an hour.

The website will be designed using Squarespace or Wix, depending on the functions requested. Both online website builders. These platforms offer very easily customisable templates, easily updatable and include hosting, SEO (to appears in search engine like Google), analytics (to view visitors and their geographical location, the time they spent on your site, and the pages they visited etc).
I find these two systems to be the best on the market.

About Gene
Based in London, Gene has been working as a web and graphic designer for more than 20 years and has taught Digital Media courses at Camberwell College of Art, Greenwich University of Architecture and London Metropolitan University since 2002.
Gene has worked on a huge range of web and graphic design projects of all sizes. She has specialised in WordPress sites and recently in user-friendly platforms such as Squarespace & Wix to help start-ups with lower budget.
